Abstract

The MIL-STD-1553 standard is used in most of the present day satellites as well as payloads within the space shuttle. The Protocol Sequencer and Subsystem Interface is a major functional element of the 1553 remote terminal design. The Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language -VHDL is used to describe hardware of Protocol Sequencer and Subsystem Interface. The functional element is divided into three units for simulation. The three units are linked using a top level program. The design is then targeted to an ACTEL device.
